Executive Coaching

A thinking partnership for leaders doing difficult work.

Executive coaching with Elucian is a confidential, practical engagement — structured time away from operational pressures to think clearly, challenge assumptions and work through the complex issues that come with senior leadership.

Leadership is demanding. Good thinking is rare.

The further you progress in an organisation, the fewer people you can speak to honestly. Peers are competitors. Direct reports are affected by your decisions. Boards have their own interests. The result is that many senior leaders make consequential decisions with limited opportunity for genuine reflection or challenge.

Executive coaching provides that space. Not motivation, not generic frameworks, not a performance improvement process — a regular, structured conversation with someone who has real management and operational experience, who will ask the questions others won't, and who has no stake in the answer.

What we might work on

The issues that matter most in your role.

Coaching conversations are shaped by what you bring to them. Common areas include:

Leadership effectiveness

How you lead, how others experience your leadership, and where the gaps are.

Managing people

Performance conversations, difficult relationships, team dynamics and building a high-functioning team.

CEO–board relationships

Navigating the board relationship, managing expectations and working effectively with governance.

Strategic thinking

Stepping back from the operational to think clearly about direction, priorities and trade-offs.

Difficult conversations

Preparing for and working through the conversations that are easy to avoid and costly to delay.

Organisational change

Leading your organisation through change — and managing your own response to it.

Prioritisation and decision-making

Working out what matters most when everything feels urgent.

Stakeholder management

Managing complex stakeholder relationships with clarity and confidence.

Personal leadership development

Understanding your strengths, your patterns and where you want to grow.

The Elucian approach

Practical. Confidential. Honest.

Elucian coaching is grounded in real experience — not theory. Our work draws on substantial practical experience in senior management, operations, governance and the community services sector. That means the coaching is informed by an understanding of what it actually feels like to lead an organisation, manage a board, handle a difficult staff situation or navigate a significant change.

Practical

Focused on real issues in your actual context — not generic frameworks or abstract models.

Confidential

What is discussed in coaching stays in coaching. Full stop.

Challenging

We will ask the questions that are worth asking, even when they are uncomfortable.

Supportive

Challenging does not mean adversarial. The relationship is a partnership, not a performance review.

How coaching works

Simple, flexible and focused on outcomes.

Coaching engagements are tailored to the individual. Most clients find a regular rhythm of fortnightly or monthly sessions works well — enough frequency to maintain momentum, enough space for reflection and action between sessions.

Session format

Regular 60-minute sessions conducted online via Zoom, at a time that suits you.

Frequency

Typically fortnightly or monthly, depending on what you are working on and your preference.

Objectives

Each engagement begins with agreed objectives — a clear sense of what you want to achieve and how you will know when you have.

Between sessions

Sessions are supported by practical actions and reflection between meetings, so progress is made in the work, not just in the conversation.

A conversation before a commitment

Find out if coaching is right for you.

Before any coaching engagement begins, we offer a complimentary 30-minute initial conversation. It is an opportunity to discuss what you want to achieve, ask questions about how coaching works and determine whether Elucian coaching is the right fit — with no obligation on either side.
